Adopting AR - Augmented Reality for Advanced Composite Structures Repair & Training
Presenter
Wilson Boynton President ACT
Advanced Composites Training, London Ontario
Hosts Jeff Bird, CASI Ottawa
Omer Majeed, CASI Ottawa
Come hear and see some demonstrations of Canadian innovations in aerospace composites structural repair and training. Training aspects for military & civilian applications across a multitude of composite industries, now available worldwide, will be highlighted: AoForge VR as a Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality resource for training and technical support services.
Wilson Boynton is the Founder and President of Renaissance Aeronautics Associates and its composites technologies training divisions; Advanced Composites Training, and AoForge Virtual Resources. Wilson graduated from the Aircraft Maintenance program at Canadore College in North Bay, ON and began his career in the helicopter industry. Having a vision for the future of advanced composites technologies for aircraft & aerospace structures, he noted the lack of composites training resources in Canada and globally.
ACT began its training operations with full regulatory aviation maintenance approvals and accreditations in 1996, where Wilson continues to be an educator and innovator in his field. In that time he has received several prestigious awards for his advancements in the field of aviation technology, including the distinguished “George Burwash-Langford Technology Award” presented by the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians & Technologists.
