Canada has growing equities in space with orbital assets contributing to the Canadian economy, defense, security and the progress of science and technology. The Canadian national interest is clearly affected by changes in this newly recognized domain of operations. Accordingly, the field of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) has received an increased profile emphasizing risks posed by the changing space security environment - but this is not enough to ensure Canada remains at the forefront of the various issues posed by the increase of activity in space over the next decade.
Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) is pleased to convene a virtual workshop aimed at engaging Canadians on SDA with an emphasis on Canadian needs and requirements for the next 10 years. During this workshop, participants will hear from, and interact with, speakers of the Canadian defence, commercial and civil space sectors on their perspectives and outlook for SDA as we begin this new decade.
Registered participants are encouraged to submit questions to Session Moderator Donald Bédard in advance of the session.
